Ministries
    
     New Salem has a stong Sunday School .  Classes are offered for all age groups, from the youngest to the young at heart.  We are sure you will find a class tht is right for you.  Sunday School beings at 10:00 each Sunday.

     Music is also an important part of New Salem.  Our choir sings and many talented people provide special music for our service.  Our Youth and Young Adults sing in worship at times throughout the year.  
    
     Worship is central to our life together.  Each Sunday we gather for a traditional, yet informal service.  There is a special time set aside for our children.  Communion is served quarterly, which is open to all that believe in our Lord Jesus Christ.  

     New Salem's Youth program is exciting.  Our youth gather regularly for fun, service, fellowship and learning.  Events include monthly meetings and other activities.  Youth meetings are the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30.

     United Methodist Women meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm.  The women are active and enjoy having secret pals and elderly secret pals.  They also stay busy with fund raisers to support our church.

     Christmas time is a very special time of the year for New Salem.  We enjoy celebrating Christ birth with many activities.  The Christmas programs are a great tradition for New Salem.  Each year the program is presented by the children and/or adults and sometimes both.  The Christmas program is the Sunday before Christmas each year.  We also offer Christmas Eve services to welcome the Christ child at 11:00 pm each Christmas Eve.  We encourage you to attend it will be a true blessing.

     New Salem Supports a church run Food Pantry that allows us to help those in our community in need, through donations of food, money, and other items.  We are also strong supporters of the Festival of Sharing, which provides many different necessities to agencies that distribute them to needy families. Along with a our local food Pantry we are also participating in the Angel Food Ministries.  Angel Food is a program set up to help supply food to everyone at a reduced cost.  You purchase a box and pick up at the church for more information on Angel Food Ministries please call 266-3406 or 266-0042.
